Is Gerald Massey accepted by scholars today?

Not for his largest claims. Gerald Massey (1828 to 1907) was a self-taught English poet whose last book, Ancient Egypt: The Light of the World (1907), traces the world’s myths and much of the Bible to Egypt. Egyptologists, linguists and historians of religion do not accept his central arguments: that Egypt and inner Africa were the single source of the world’s myths, that words in different languages are related because they sound alike, and that the Gospels retell Egyptian myth. Readers still value his close reading of the texts of his day.
