This policy covers Esbat Book of Shadows & Moon for Android. Esbat keeps your book on your phone: there is no account, no server of ours and nothing to sync. No account · No permissions needed · Nothing leaves your phone
All of this is stored in the app's own storage on your phone:
None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling Esbat, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes it.
Optional · Scheduled by your phone
Every reminder is off until you switch it on. The first time you do, Android asks whether Esbat may show notifications. Reminders for moon phases, sabbats and the other dates you choose are calculated and scheduled by your phone itself: there is no push service, no notification token and no server involved. Turn them off in the app, or remove the permission in Android settings, at any time.
Esbat runs no server of its own. On launch it asks Google Play for its prices and for what you own; that request goes to Google, not to us, and is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. Nothing you write is ever part of it. In full, that is:
Like any request on the internet, the connection to Google Play shows Google your device's IP address.
Sharing a sigil as an image, or sending your whole book as plain text, uses your phone's own share sheet. You choose where it goes, and it does not pass through us.
Esbat is free to download. One optional in-app unlock opens more sigils in a day than the three that are always free, and the four Goetia entries. It is bought once through Google Play, which processes the payment; we never see your name, card number or billing address. Whether you own it is stored on your device, and Google Play remembers it so you can restore it on a new phone. Google's handling of your purchase is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Esbat has no cloud sync or backup service of its own. Android's own device backup is not switched off for Esbat, so if backup by Google is turned on for your phone, Android may include the app's data in that backup. It is controlled in your Android settings, and we have no access to it. With device backup off, uninstalling Esbat deletes your book for good.
Your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera input, calendar, health or financial data, advertising identifier, browsing history or any biometric data. Esbat has no way to collect them.
Esbat is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Because Esbat sends us nothing, we hold no personal data about you to give you, correct or delete. Everything the app keeps is on your phone, and clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes it. You can remove the notification permission in your device settings at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EU/UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California). We honour them; there is simply no Esbat data on our side for them to apply to. We do not sell or share personal information.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
