The app keeps a small set of records in this phone’s local storage: which files you have read, cards you have saved and recently seen, the interests you picked, your Guide me answers and roadmap, the signs you have met and lessons you have finished, the daily-card reminder setting, the Listen voice and speed, your Day/Night theme and text size choice, and the full-access record — when your 7 days started and whether you own the unlock. None of it leaves the phone, and uninstalling the app deletes all of it. Settings lists every record, key by key, with a button that clears your reading data.
The one-time unlock is sold through Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment and tells the app only that this Google account owns the unlock. The app never sees your name, email address, card number, or any other payment detail.
The daily card is off until you turn it on. When it is on, the app schedules ordinary local notifications on the device itself — there is no push service and no token, and nothing is registered with any server. Turning the daily card off in Settings, or blocking the app’s notifications in Android, removes every scheduled card.
Listen hands the text to the text-to-speech engine already installed on your phone. Depending on which engine and voice your phone is set to use, that engine may synthesize speech over the network — the voice picker in Settings marks each voice “On-device” or “May use the network”. Any such connection is made by your phone’s speech engine under its own settings, not by this app.
The only permission the app ever asks you for is notifications, and only when you turn on the daily card (Android 13 and later ask for it). The app also holds Android’s standard network permission, which it uses only for Google Play’s billing checks. It never asks for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or files.
