Lead to Gold: Shadow Work is an Android app from Aquarius Mobile Studios that turns the old alchemists’ Great Work into ten quiet minutes a day. It walks you through the twelve stages of alchemy, from Calcination to Projection, seven days each: 84 days of short lessons, guided shadow work exercises with slow breathing, and journal prompts, kept in a private journal that never leaves your phone. Each day also brings a line of wisdom from the old masters, word for word, with a positive affirmation written for it.
The Great Work: twelve gates, seven days each, from Calcination to Projection. Gates 1 to 5 are shadow work, the alchemists’ black stage, which Carl Jung saw as meeting your shadow.
Every day has three small steps: a short lesson, a guided exercise with the Glass, and a shadow work prompt with “go deeper” questions.
A private shadow work journal that stays on your phone, and can be exported to a file whenever you like.
A line of wisdom a day from Hermes Trismegistus, the Emerald Tablet, Basil Valentine, Eirenaeus Philalethes, Roger Bacon and more, quoted word for word, each with an affirmation.
The Glass, an hourglass timer for 1, 3, 6 or 11 minutes, and sleep sounds from the alchemist’s lab with a sleep timer.
The Library: the Emerald Tablet in Isaac Newton’s translation, the Golden Tractate of Hermes and Basil Valentine’s Twelve Keys, with notes in plain words; all 116 alchemical symbols as flashcards; a daily quiz.
Free forever: one line of wisdom a day and your journal. The Work, a subscription or one-time purchase, opens everything else.
