The Gateway Process, answered

Short, sourced answers to the questions people ask about the Gateway Process and the 1983 US Army report that the CIA released in 2003. Each answer gives the page number or the CIA record it comes from, keeps what the documents say apart from what people claim about them, and links the official copy. The report and its companion documents are public domain, and all four are bundled, readable offline, in Lucid Dream Training & Journal.

The questions

How these answers are written

Each page starts with the short answer, then shows where it comes from: the printed page number of the 1983 report, or the CIA record ID of the file, with a link to the official copy in the CIA Reading Room. Quotations come only from US government records, which are public domain. Contractor papers (SRI, SAIC and the 1995 evaluation) are summarised and linked, not copied.

Every page ends with the same two-part section: what the documents say, and what people claim about them. The claims are often louder than the files. The files are more interesting.

The report itself is explained on What is the CIA's Gateway Process document?. The remote viewing side of the same archive has its own set: Star Gate remote viewing, answered.
