This policy covers Lucid Dream Training & Journal for Android. The app itself makes no network requests: your journal, sessions, manuals and archive all work with the phone in airplane mode, and nothing you record leaves the device. No network requests · Nothing leaves your phone
Entries, tags, statistics and session history are stored in the app's own database on your phone. There is no server, no cloud sync and no copy of your journal anywhere but your phone. Android device backup is turned off for this app, so your journal is not copied to Google Drive either.
Optional · On-device
If you use the optional voice journal, Android asks for microphone permission, and the microphone is used only while you are actively recording. Speech is converted to text by your phone's built-in on-device recognition. Audio is not recorded to a file, not uploaded and not sent to us or anyone else. If your phone cannot do on-device recognition, the feature is unavailable; the app never falls back to a cloud service. The first time you use it, your phone's speech engine may need a connection to download its offline recognition model.
Session sound is synthesised on your phone in real time; nothing is downloaded or streamed. So a session can keep playing with the screen off, Android shows a media notification while it runs, and on Android 13 and later it asks for notification permission first. Nothing is sent to a server.
Three things do, and none of them is the app contacting a server of ours. Google Play handles buying and restoring Premium, so a purchase or a restore will not complete in airplane mode. Google Play also runs its own update check at launch. And the first time you use voice capture, your phone's speech engine may download its offline model (§3). In full:
Premium is bought through Google Play, which processes the payment; we never see your name, card number or billing address. Whether you own it is stored on your device, and Google Play remembers it so you can restore it on a new phone. Google's handling of your purchase is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your name, email address, dream journal, voice recordings, location, contacts, photos, calendar, health or financial data, advertising identifier, browsing history or any biometric data.
Because the app sends us nothing, we hold no personal data about you to give you, correct or delete. Your journal lives only on your phone: clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it deletes it permanently, and since backup is off, it cannot be restored. You can manage the microphone and notification permissions in your device settings at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EU/UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California). We honour them; there is simply no data on our side for them to apply to. We do not sell or share personal information.
Lucid Dream Training & Journal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
