Multiplication is the eleventh of the twelve stages of alchemy, part of the red stage (rubedo). It is the growing of the work: the alchemists believed the finished stone could multiply, so that a little of it turned much more into gold. In spiritual alchemy it is when what has grown in you starts to reach other people.
What the alchemists did
Multiplication meant increasing the strength and the quantity of the finished stone by dissolving and setting it again with more of its own kind, so that a little of it could change much more.
What it means in you
The alchemists believed the finished stone could multiply: a little of it turned much more into gold. This is the first gate of Your Gold. What has grown in you through the shadow work and the clearing now starts to reach other people, through kindness, generosity, teaching and the company you keep.

In the old masters’ words

“It is exceeding sweet, and of great virtue for easing the pains of wounds.” Artephius, The Secret Book, 12th century
