What is exaltation in alchemy?

Exaltation is the tenth of the twelve stages of alchemy, part of the yellow stage (citrinitas). It is the raising of the work, degree by degree, to its highest form. In spiritual alchemy it is about your best self: your values, your vision, and the patience and humility to let the highest things ripen.

What the alchemists did

Exaltation meant raising the matter, by repeated gentle digestions, to a higher degree of purity and strength, step by step.

What it means in you

In exaltation, the alchemists raised the work, degree by degree, to its highest form. In you, this is the week of your best self: your values, your vision, what you want your life to stand for. It is also a week for patience and humility, because the highest things ripen slowly and don’t need to show off.
